Concerts in San Diego range from stadium dates at Petco Park and arena tours at Pechanga Arena San Diego to club nights in North Park. Viejas Arena at San Diego State University books pop, rock, hip-hop and Latin shows. The Observatory North Park is mostly rock, and House of Blues San Diego mixes rock, hip-hop and electronic. North of the city, Belly Up in Solana Beach opened in 1974 and books rock, alternative, jazz and reggae.

The San Diego Symphony presents a summer season at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, and the venue lists other concerts alongside it.

Three Trolley stations, 12th and Imperial, Park and Market, and Gaslamp Quarter, are within two blocks of Petco Park, according to the ballpark. Pechanga Arena San Diego is at 3500 Sports Arena Boulevard, and the arena's directions from Interstate 5 southbound use the Rosecrans Street exit. For Belly Up, the venue says to exit Interstate 5 at Lomas Santa Fe, turn west, then turn left onto Cedros Avenue.
